Mr. Wu Lei is currently the Secretary of the Party Committee and the Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited, the Secretary of the Party Committee and the Chairman of Shanghai Electric Holdings Group Co., Ltd., and a deputy to the 16th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. He was previously the Vice General Manager of SAIC Motor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the Assistant to the Chairman of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, the Vice General Manager of Volkswagen Transmission (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the Executive Director of the Finance Department, a member of Discipline Inspection Committee, and the Chief Financial Officer of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group), the Vice President of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, the Deputy Director of the Department of Planning, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (temporary post), the Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Director of the Shanghai Municipal Office of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and the Deputy Director of the Military-Civil Integration Office of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee (at the Bureau-Director level). As a Senior Engineer, Mr. Wu Lei holds a Bachelor's degree in Management from Tongji University, a Master's degree in Business Administration from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and a PhD degree in Management Science and Engineering from Tongji University.
