On November 1, Shanghai Electric Hengxi Photovoltaic Technology (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hengxi Photovoltaic") roofed the 1.2 GW joint plant of the Phase I of the high-efficiency heterojunction photovoltaic cell and module project. As a milestone in the construction of Hengxi Photovoltaic Nantong plant, it lays a solid foundation for further promoting the development of Shanghai Electric's new photovoltaic business.
As a major project of Jiangsu in 2023, the project plans 4.8 GW high-efficiency heterojunction cell and module production capacity. In only 3 months, the 1.2 GW joint plant and the two main buildings of the Phase I 1.2 GW cell + module plant, the industry's first joint integrated plant, have been roofed.
Faced with many unfavorable factors such as complex operation surface, tight schedule, and high temperatures during the rainy seasons, Hengxi Photovoltaic remained focused on the plan, shouldered their responsibilities, and collaborated closely with the construction units to efficiently finish the phased construction tasks with high quality, gaining time for further interior construction and decoration.
In the future, the joint plant will be used for the production of Shanghai Electric's high-efficiency heterojunction cells and modules with industry-leading performance, high efficiency, high power, high bifacial ratio, high reliability, low-temperature coefficient, low LID and low PID. It will enhance the power generation capacity per watt and lower costs for the photovoltaic systems, effectively safeguarding customers’ investment returns.
